The 10% mortality rate in eating disorders is unacceptable. On November 29, 2012, F.E.A.S.T. conference attendees, EDC members, congressional staffers, and other federal employees attended at a briefing on Capitol Hill the day before F.E.A.S.T.'s annual conference. In this briefing speakers provided data and testimonials on the heart-wrenching death rate associated with eating disorders and called on Congress and the general public to throw off the stigma and pass legislation to save lives.
