We are in stage 2/3 and something interesting is happening...I have cut back gradually on calories recently and intuitive eating is happening more and more. She is feeling hungry now amd moving towards signaling that independently and then getting something to eat on her own. Feels very "normal" and age appropriate. She will soon be 12 and we are 7 months post w/r. I kept calories pretty high for 6 months post w/r and in last month dropped back significantly.

I still add extra based on activity level but I am "following" her lead more and more. She leaves some on her plate at some meals and not at others and she gets snacks when she wants and eats off grid (outside of snack and meal time). Early days but sure feels like moving to normal. So for those of you who are worried about intuitive eating not happening....patience

We were not here a few months ago. For my girl at least, I think she stalled on intuitive eating earlier because she really wasn't feeling hungry....however if she had been feeling too hungry much earlier she would have been overwhelmed by the feeling and it may have triggered an ed response. Now hunger isn't a scary thing.
