Okay, guys, I've got a question:
Just got a call from our FBT. She said that, having examined the growth charts, D's current weight is terrific and we can keep her where she is. (I did mention that she needs to keep gaining as she grows, of course).
Because of this, she said that for the 504 plan for the Fall she is requiring only that d have supervised lunch in a quiet setting, NOT supervised snacks.
I said, but without supervised snacks, she might throw her snacks away, and psychologically, doesn't that further entrench ED thinking?
FBT said she didn't think that was a problem, as long as she was getting enough calories to grow properly.
Even if it isn't in the 504 plan my thought is to ask the teacher to let d finish her snack in the classroom before heading out to recess. I really want her to have a supervised snack.
FBT said that at this stage we'll be backing off some and giving more control over eating to d by Fall, but if d's thinking is still disordered, that makes no sense to me.
