Laura Collins/Lyster-Mensh, Executive Director of F.E.A.S.T.
Collins/Lyster-Mensh is a writer from Virginia who became an activist for improved eating disorder treatment after the recovery of her teen daughter from anorexia. Her book, "Eating With Your Anorexic" (McGraw Hill), is the story of her family's experience. Collins serves as vice-chair of the Eating Disorders Coaliton's FAC, is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders, and an ANAD resource person. She has been an invited speaker at National Eating Disorders Association conferences, the Academy for Eating Disorders ICED, Ophelia's Place, the Annual University of North Carolina's Eating Disorder Conference, and Eating Disorders Coalition conference. Collins writes a blog for the Huffington Post, and is also frequently interviewed by the media, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, BBC News, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, NPR, and the Los Angeles Times.
