This study has gained institutional, research ethics board approval at Toronto General Hospital, North York General Hospital, and The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
Study Summary and Eligibility:
We are conducting a research study to evaluate the feasibility of a new treatment for those between the ages of (16-24) with Anorexia Nervosa. This treatment is designed for older adolescents and young adults who would like to involve family in supporting them with recovery from Anorexia Nervosa. Family may include close friends, siblings, and partners.
This therapy balances support from family (including partners and friends) with support for the older adolescent or young adult’s independence. If you take part, you will be asked to attend 25 family therapy sessions over the course of 6 months. Some of each session is spent individually with the young adult with AN and some is spent together as a family. You will also be asked to fill out questionnaires.
