Free: Stanford Online Guided Self-Help Study for Parents
Who can Apply?
Parents of 11-18 year old patients with anorexia nervosa
Access to a computer with internet
Stanford University's Online Guided Self-Help Program offers free treatment to participants anywhere in the world as long as they have access to a computer with internet and a video camera.
Parents of teens with anorexia nervosa simply meet with a Stanford therapist online once weekly for 12 weeks and learn the key aspects of Family Based Treatment (the Maudsley Method) to apply at home. Because the treatment focuses on teaching parents, children are able to continue with individual or outside therapy at the same time.
