Join F.E.A.S.T. in an event around the globe and at your own table: FEAST 4 F.E.A.S.T!

To build awareness and support for the families around the world facing eating disorders this year we are asking you to join other F.E.A.S.T. families in a meal enjoyed in every time zone. Families everywhere will host a gathering in their home, or a local picnic spot, or restaurant — anywhere people enjoy a meal. We will invite friends and neighbors who may not know much about eating disorders, and we will share a meal and a few useful facts about the topic in an environment that is celebratory and unique. We will fight stigma and hunger at the same time by demonstrating that “food is medicine” and that gathering for meal is normal. We will raise awareness and the role of family, and family meals, over foods we enjoy and with people we care about.

Donations made by the participants will benefit families around the world: spreading information and support.

We will demonstrate the principles of this organization by gathering together in person, and then virtually: sharing pictures of our FEASTs on social media. We will show just how diverse and fun and NORMAL families faced with eating disorders can be: even around mealtime!

One of F.E.A.S.T.’s families has already planned an outdoor barbeque party with extended family. Another will hold a Hannukah party with potato latkes and hot cider with a mom’s group. We encourage you to bring cupcakes and lemonade to your church group and hand out eating disorder information to the Parent Teacher night. We look forward to your photos from picnics at the beach, and breakfast gatherings at your doctor’s staff meeting. Pack a picnic to chat about “food is medicine” with fellow parents in the stands at sports practice. Take selfies when you gather some neighbors down at the pub to answer questions about eating disorders.

Let’s get out into our communities and let others into our lives with openness and authenticity. Let’s make eating disorders less scary and make recovery more visible. You will feel less alone, more empowered, and better supported by your community!
