What is F.E.A.S.T. Membership?

F.E.A.S.T. Membership is FREE!

  • Membership includes an account on the Around the Dinner Table Forum (see info on posting privileges below).
  • As a convenience, auto-renewing Supporting Memberships are available but have no additional benefits and are considered to be donations.
  • New accounts are automatically approved by responding to a link in the confirmation email.

Membership is open to anyone who:

  • respects F.E.A.S.T.'s Principles
  • is interested in understanding the science of eating disorders
  • is supporting a loved-one with an eating disorder, or
  • wants to advocate for more research and better treatments for ED's.

    What is the Around the Dinner Table (ATDT) Forum?

    • Around the Dinner Table Forum (ATDT) is a service for caregivers run by F.E.A.S.T.
    • ATDT is an anonymous, online, international support group for parents and caregivers of eating disorder patients, and is moderated 24/7 by experienced caregivers around the world.
    • The ATDT forum has connected and supported caregivers since 2004.The forum is visible to the public, but you must register with F.E.A.S.T. to join the discussion.


    Who can Post on the Around the Dinner Table Forum?

    • Caregivers: This forum is meant primarily for parents and adult caregivers of eating disorder patients
    • Eating Disorder Professionals:  Clinicians and Professionals working in the eating disorder field may post replies on member threads, but cannot begin new topics. When posting we ask that the conversation remains primarily in the domain and service of parent's and carer’s specific concerns.
    • Clinicians Who Are Also Caregivers: If you are an ED Clinician who is also caring for a loved-one with an ED, we ask that you register as a caregiver, and post primarily for support as a caregiver.
    • Patients: Individuals with eating disorders are welcome to read the ATDT Forum, but will not be able to post on the forum. This is not because we don't care, but because we do. We believe that care advice should come from one's own family carers working with a team of treatment providers, not strangers on the internet.
    • Caregivers in Treatment for an ED: Caregiving parents who are also in treatment for an eating disorder are asked to register as caregivers, but limit questions to caregiving issues.

    What if I don't want to use the ATDT Forum or some (or any) of the social features?

    • Many FEAST Members do not use the ATDT forum. They join in order to receive our newsletters and to be counted as supporting F.E.A.S.T.'s Principles.
    • You are not required to join any Community Groups.
    • You can turn off Community Messaging.

    I am a F.E.A.S.T. Facebook Group Member - do I still need to register?

    YES. F.E.A.S.T. Membership is separate from our Facebook Group membership.

    What Services does F.E.A.S.T. Membership include?

    F.E.A.S.T.'s educational content is available to all site visitors. Registered F.E.A.S.T. Members have additional access to a variety of community services and interest groups:

    Is it really FREE to join F.E.A.S.T.? Yes!

    • F.E.A.S.T. Membership is free, but donations are gratefully accepted!
    • F.E.A.S.T. relies on individual donations from the community we serve and does not accept advertising or corporate sponsorship from eating disorder service providers.
    • Annual Supporting Membership Levels are available for those who are able and interested in helping us maintain our level of services. Paid membership information is confidential. (Supporting Memberships receive no extra services, and your annual dues are fully tax-deductible in the US, and other countries recognizing US 501(c)3 non-profit status.)
    • Monthly "set it and forget it" donation payments are also available, are tax-deductible in the US, and can be cancelled at any time.

    F.E.A.S.T. Members include:

    • Caregivers
    • Health Professionals
    • Patients in treatment or recovery*
    • Other Interested Parties (i.e. teachers, coaches, advocates, extended family, neighbors, etc.)

    *We ask that ED patients focus their energy and time on finding effective on the ground care. This website is not a replacement for treatment, and F.E.A.S.T. believes that the best way we can support individuals suffering from eating disorders is to encourage them to enter treatment and send their families and carergivers here for our support services.

    Sustaining Members are those who register for:

    • Annual recurring donations
    • Monthly recurring donations

    What if I don't want to use the ATDT Forum or some (or any) of the social features?

    • Many FEAST Members do not use the ATDT forum. They join in order to receive our newsletters and to be counted as supporting F.E.A.S.T.'s Principles.
    • You are not required to join any Community Groups.

    What about my privacy? Do I have to use my real name? Will my email address be visible?

    • A First and Last Name are required to register, but these fields are private by default.
    • Your first and last name will not be used to identify you anywhere on the F.E.A.S.T. site, unless you change your profile settings to allow this.
    • You will be identified by a "USERNAME" and/or "NICK/SCREEN" that you create.
    • You control the privacy settings for information in your Community Profile and the Member Directory.
    • Community Profiles and the Member Directory are visible ONLY to other registered and logged-in F.E.A.S.T. Members.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Your email address can only be changed by an administrator, but we are glad to do so at any time. Your email will only be used for F.E.A.S.T. communications by F.E.A.S.T. administrators. We will never sell our email lists!


    What is the difference between my "Username" and my "Nick/Screen Name"?

    • USERNAME - This will be your FORUM ALIAS if you choose to post on the "Around the Dinner Table" (ATDT) Forum. Your USERNAME is also used to log in to the F.E.A.S.T. Community.
    • NICK/SCREEN NAME - This is the name that identifies you on your Profile Page, in Community Groups, Book Reviews, Recipe Submissions, and Blog Comments.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Usernames can only be changed by an administrator, but we are glad to do so at any time.
