A Letter From Body Brave and NIED: Thank You Lisa Burns

F.E.A.S.T. was pleased and proud to receive the following letter praising our own Lisa Burns for her participation in the historic Body Peace virtual conference held earlier this month. We join our allies, Body Brave and NIED, in lauding the outstanding advocacy and outreach Burns brings to her work for the community!
Dear Lisa:

A HUGE thank you from all of us at Body Brave and NIED, and on behalf of the 216 registrants who signed up for Body Peace.  As the first-of-its-kind virtual body image and Eating Disorders conference, we are so grateful that you and F.E.A.S.T. played an integral role in pioneering this project with us.  Participants came from nine Canadian provinces, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey!

Focusing on the value of lived experience as evidence, this year’s conference brought together survivors, caregivers, and health professionals to learn from you and 39 other keynotes, speakers, and panelists, as well as from each other

Your presentation on Day 1truly illustrated the theme of Innovation where we hoped to highlight the clinical and nonclinical innovative approaches, fresh ideas, and new perspectives in the realm of body image and disordered eating.

With your help we exceeded our expectations and are looking forward to organizing next year’s conference, reviewing and incorporating our lessons learned!

We welcome your comments and suggestions for this past conference and the future ones!

Thank you once again,
Sonia and all at Body Brave
Lynne, Wendy and the NIED team

Such a well-organized, & well attended virtual conference presentation Lisa! You ROCK! And you provided caregivers and healthcare professionals and those with lived experience with essential resources, and most importantly a message of hope: that recovery IS possible.
