Novel Bulimia Nervosa Treatment Study

The Department of Psychology at Drexel University is currently piloting a novel treatment approach that incorporates Acceptance-Based Therapy into the gold standard Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Bulimia Nervosa (BN). Eligible females can receive 20 weeks of individual therapy from the Drexel University clinical psychology doctoral students at NO COST. Participants will also receive payment of $125.

If you are a female adult and are currently struggling with BN, you may be eligible.

How do you know if you might have BN? Here are some signs:
• Eating feels out of control (for example, once you start eating you can’t seem to stop)
• Eating large amounts of food when not feeling physically hungry
• Feeling guilty, ashamed, or distressed after eating
• Eating in secret
• Eating large quantities of food in a short period of time
• Making yourself vomit to control your shape or weight OR compensating (e.g. using laxatives, diuretics, diet pills, excessive exercising) for eating

If you would like to learn more about the study, please contact the research coordinator, Arielle Wolinsky, via email ( or phone (215-553-7137).
