The Chicago Center for Evidence Based Treatment and the University of Illinois Chicago are currently recruiting families to participate in our multi-family therapy intervention for restrictive eating disorders.
We are offering a virtual intensive program to deliver evidence-based treatment. This program runs approximately every 6-8 weeks and up to 8 families can participate in each round. After the initial virtual 4-day intensive, families will be invited to join 3 -1 day follow-ups. There is no cost for families and insurance is not needed.
The intervention involves families participating in a group format. They will engage one another in multiple virtual activities as well as receive in vivo meal support.
This intervention is available for families in all stages of eating disorder treatment. This program is designed for families who are just beginning in treatment, for families whose child may be “stuck” in treatment, or may be transitioning from higher levels of care. The goal of this intervention is to provide families with the opportunity to learn and practice skills, as well as engage in a supportive, focused environment with other families. We are not excluding participants who are currently in treatment, so any of your families currently in a different treatment are also welcome to participate.
You may qualify if:
- You have a child with a restrictive eating disorder
- Your child is aged 11-18
- Your child lives with at least one parent or guardian in Illinois
- Your family speaks English
Our first cohort is planned to run in September, so we would love to have families sign up soon! If you have any questions about the study, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask. Please contact our research coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or 312-600-3936.
