Other specified feeding and eating disorder (OSFED) is a serious disorder which affects 4% of the population worldwide. Formerly known as eating disorder not otherwise specified (EDNOS), OSFED is the most common of eating disorders despite being one of the least discussed. A person diagnosed with OSFED may present with many of the symptoms common to anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder but may not fit the full criteria for either. Treatment for OSFED is usually based on the eating disorder it most closely resembles. We have assembled some current information and resources to help you support your family member who may be suffering from OSFED.
